1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using MindPlay at mindplay.dev ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors and users.

2. Description of the Service

MindPlay is a free collection of online cognitive mini-games covering memory, logic, focus, and reaction time. All games are free to play and require no account. Game scores and statistics are stored locally in your browser using localStorage — no data is transmitted to our servers unless you choose to create an account (a future optional feature).

MindPlay is provided for entertainment and self-assessment purposes only. It is not a clinical diagnostic tool and should not be used to make medical, educational, or employment decisions about yourself or others.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to interact with the games in ways that artificially inflate scores
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from MindPlay content without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

4. Intellectual property

All content on MindPlay — including game designs, artwork, written content, and software — is owned by Parag Yadav or licensed for use on this platform. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without prior written permission. The blog content and game descriptions may be quoted briefly with attribution and a link to the source.

5. No medical or diagnostic advice

MindPlay games are based on cognitive paradigms used in research settings but are not validated clinical assessments. Results are influenced by factors including sleep, stress, caffeine, device type, and familiarity with the test format. Nothing on MindPlay constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you have concerns about cognitive health or symptoms affecting daily functioning, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MindPlay and its owner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which for most users is $0, as the Service is free).

8. Third-party services

MindPlay uses third-party services including Vercel (hosting), Google Analytics (usage analytics), and Vercel Analytics. Use of the Service is subject to those services' terms and privacy policies as well as our own. We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party services linked from MindPlay.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore.
